Cadillac Cimarron. I had a Cavalier of the same vintage growing up, I know how nearly-indestructible early J-bodies are. Why not have the Cadillac of Cavaliers?

A Yugo is just a Fiat built on the other side of the Adriatic, and as such is hugely receptive to classic tuner mods. Unreal potential for a pure bird-flipping hot hatch project.

The new one or the one with the half door on the right side?

I drive my parents’ brand new civic when my car is out of commission. I hate FWD but the car is honestly quite nice, they have come a long way. It’s even kinda quick in 1st gear, and handles/steers way better than my land yacht. It’s loaded too - leather, nav, heated seats, bluetooth, etc.

The Catera weighed 500 lbs too much. It didnt come with a manual option either. However, I’ll always have a soft spot for em (despite their problems).
My father had a beautiful 2000 Catera in forest green. Put that sucker in Sport mode and she gave it her all. Along with that, she sang a lovely induction note from the L81/X30XE 54 degree English built V6. Check out that multi-length intake manifold:
Note the last bit of intake and velocity stack in front of the radiator fans:

The older one. The new one I’ll hoon when the JCW model comes out.

Any generation of Taurus SHO, even the jellybean ones.
Dodge Neon
And having actually hooned a Prius, I’d do it again.

LOVE the Ridgeline!
I don’t need a full size truck. I don’t do virtually any truck requiring things. It would be perfect me.

I’ve also loved these simply because it does not fit the mold for a Cadillac, I’ve heard these things aren’t that fun to drive and they are a pain in the ass to work with. Funny enough the Opel/Vauxhall Omega was supposed to have an LS1 variant but it didn’t work out. A classmate from high school has one but I think she’s selling it, if I had money I would buy it and stuff a different engine in it. 10/10 would hoon.
I’d hoon a Camry, they’d take the beating like a champ since they’re so tough.

Sell the powertrain for some decent amount of coin. Put it all back together Roadkill style, swap a giant cube TT LS engine and hoon the crap out of it.

(P.S. It’s the only Lexus from the past four years that has ever looked elegant with the Predator grille. Others look from varying levels of cool to hideous, but the pre-facelift ES was the only that still looked stately with its maw.)

No idea why, but I’ve always wanted a Merkur Scorpio. I look at it as a bigger, more practical, and prettier (IMO) than both the original Taurus and the Scorpio it was based on. It may have had only 140 horsepowers going through its five speed and be rather unreliable, but the stylish lines almost remind me of a Rover 800 (another iffy car that I would love to hoon) and its exclusivity despite looking so ordinary would be very appealing. What it is is the XR4Ti’s lesser known brother.
Merkur Scorpio

I guess I have an affinity for big hatches that are shaped like doorstops from 90’s European brands...

agree - big, fairly fast, kinda quirky, smooth as silk. Great car to eat miles.

My only complaint about the Ridgeline was how damn ugly it was, inside and out. I’d also like an extended cab rather than a full four door, but that’s not the worst thing ever.
As a package, it was a good light duty truck.

That Zafira looks rad!

I liked them. A dude back in HS had an 03 and it was boosted. But yes, plenty of unfortunate here on OPPO.

Packs 240 hp and sports suspension. One of the few vans I could find that comes near to a enthusiast car.
![]() 01/08/2016 at 10:56 |

Heck yeah they do! No better way to eat up the highway miles. I ended up inheriting it after my parents kept it a couple years, but they kind of ruined it. They were both heavy smokers, so it stunk like no other. Dad also blew the lockup in the torque converter, so it got like 14 mpg hwy. I only kept it a few months before it needed more work too. I was a month from buying a house and 6 months from getting married, so I couldn't justify putting money into a third car. I cleared the codes and dumped it on CarMax.

There are sooooo many of them for sale in Houston and all have a good list of issues to be fixed, but at around a $2k avg price, they keep rolling around in a cool smooth manner both SLAB and in non SLAB :]
![]() 01/08/2016 at 11:07 |

Crosscab! AWD 2dr convertible suv what’s not to love? This one is for sale locally and is a beaut in triple black!

oh gawd yes! 2nd gen SHO for me please.
![]() 01/08/2016 at 11:31 |

SLAB?
They have some very common problems. My trans guy actually said about the torque converter lockup, “If it were mine, I wouldn’t fix it. It’s not gonna leave you stranded, and you can buy a lotta gas for the three grand I’d have to charge you to fix it.” I took his advice, and kept driving it. The final straw was bad crankshaft position sensors. It would randomly shut off.
![]() 01/08/2016 at 12:24 |
|
As soon as it looses cam or crank position, a stall is immediate.
![]() 01/08/2016 at 12:25 |

In AWD trim, I’d lift one with a good set of offroad wheels and tires. Beach cruiser all day!
![]() 01/08/2016 at 12:46 |

Yep. It would do it randomly. Thankfully it never happened while I was moving. It would always restart too. It first threw a code for that the day before we were going to take it on a long road trip. I rented a car for the trip.

I think the ES gets a pass because they didn’t go full retard and add the ugly taillights of the IS.
